Day 1: God’s Design

School of Impact, Day 1: God's Design

Spend 5 to 15 minutes in prayer about the following:

  • God’s wisdom and great love for us
  • Recognize that you have been created for a purpose
  • Ask for God to reveal Himself in your Bible and study time

Read John 1

  • What did you learn about yourself?
  • What did you learn about God?
  • What will do differently based upon what you read?

Read the following passage out loud. Repeat it five times. Make sure to say the verse address both before and after the passage

Ephesians 2:8–9

It is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.

Ephesians 2:8–9

Self-reflection: Have you ever asked the question, “What am I doing here?”

That’s a pretty common question for humans to ask. Fortunately, God has clearly revealed that we have a purpose. We are not here by accident. We all have an idea about why we exist. The problem is, few of our ideas match up with the purposes that God intended when He created mankind. In today’s session, we discover God’s purpose for humanity.
Look up the following verses and complete the sentence:

Isaiah 43:6-7

I was created to

Jeremiah 31:3

I was created to

Genesis 1:27

I was created to

John 10:10

I was created to

Romans 8:28

I was created to

Luke 12:22-23

I was created to

Ephesians 2:10

I was created to

Spend about 5 minutes in prayer about the following:

  • Gratitude for the fact that you have been created for an eternal purpose
  • Self-reflection about how well your life reflects God’s purposes
