- What did you learn about God?
- What will do differently based upon what you read?
MEMORY VERSE
A few of the words from this week’s memory verse have been left blank. Try your best to recite the verse and fill in the blanks by memory:
Ephesians 2:8–9
It is by __________ you have been ________, through _________—and this is not from ________, it is the _________ of God—not by _______, so that no one can ________.
Ephesians 2:8–9
STUDY
Knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord is the most exciting relationship you can have. It is the beginning of a life of adventure with an all loving, all powerful God. Yet too often, Christians bounce back and forth between confidence in Christ and dependence upon our own ability to live in God-honoring ways. It is quite common for Christians to feel like they are saved in one moment, but then doubt their salvation the next.
Self-reflection: How sure are you that you are saved? What (if any) are the situations, attitudes, or actions that cause you to wonder if you are really saved?
Based upon Ephesians 2:8-9, fill in the following sentences:
Because of grace, _________________________
Because of faith, _________________________
Since my faith is a gift, _________________________
God’s promise of salvation is unconditional because it is not based upon who you are or what you have done, but upon who God is and what He has done. What does God promise in the following verses?
Ephesians 1:7: ____________________________________________________________
John 6:37 ____________________________________________________________
2 Corinthians 5:17 ____________________________________________________________
1 John 5:11-12 ____________________________________________________________
According to the Bible, what do you need to do to be saved?
John 1:12 ____________________________________________________________
Romans 10:9 ____________________________________________________________
1 John 5:13 ____________________________________________________________
Read the following and complete the sentence:
Romans 5:8: God saved me because ____________________________________________________________
2 Timothy 1:9: God saved me because ____________________________________________________________
What does Hebrews 10:10 tell you about your salvation?
CLOSING PRAYER
Spend about 5 minutes in prayer about the following:
- Give God gratitude for His salvation
- Ask God to fill you with confidence in Him no matter what you feel
